Glasgow Science Centre visit February 2025
All S2 pupils took part in a workshop run by Glasgow Science Centre entitled "Powering the Future". They explored the issues and opportunities of renewable energy. This enhanced their learning about Sustainability.
Rampaging Chariots Robot Competition June 2025
Five S1 pupils worked hard all year to design and create two robots and then took them to the Rampaging Chariots Robot Competition in Edinburgh.
Sunroof and its drivers won the group stage and then went on to come second overall, beating off stiff competition from some much older pupils from schools and cadet groups all over Scotland!

In S2, we build on the skills and knowledge gained in Primary and S1, working towards achieving Third Level. There are 9 different courses organised together into 3 big topics which are detailed below. We continue to encourage development of thinking, practical and analytical skills.

S2 Science Topic 1 (Jun - Oct)
In Topic 1, we study Earth's Resources, Chemical Engineering and Movement.
There will be a test or an assessed piece of work at the end of each sub-topic.
S2 Science Topic 2 (Nov-Jan)
In Topic 2, we study Lab Skills, Living Planet and Matter.
There will be a test or an assessed piece of work at the end of each sub-topic.
S2 Science Topic 3 (Feb-May)
In Topic 3, we study the Power of Genetics, Compounds Reactions & Extractions and Sustainability.
There will be a test or an assessed piece of work at the end of each sub-topic.
