Course Outline

The Higher qualification in Geography gives learners a deeper understanding of geographical processes and issues. This covers a range of topics such as glaciation, climate change, health, population and cities. Geography has a strong scientific element to the course so it complements subjects such as Biology and Chemistry. It also has strong links with other Humanities subjects as Modern Studies and History.

  •  Learners will gain more advanced skills in analysing and communicating geographical ideas and will be required to handle OS maps and different types of data.
  •  Pupils are required to take part in a fieldtrip to Bowness on Windermere in June to gather data in preparation for the assignment.
