Our Curriculum from S1-3

Our Design and Technology curriculum for 1st to 3rd year pupils focuses on developing core skills, creativity, and practical abilities. In S1, pupils establish foundational skills through a course that emphasises drawing, modelling, and craft. We aim to foster independent and safe learning, encouraging pupils to become confident, self-reliant and communicate their intentions effectively.

In S2, pupils have the opportunity to explore their creativity through open design briefs. This allows them to incorporate their own personality and interests into their daily learning. We promote innovation and aim to unlock their creative potential during this stage.

S3 offers two distinct courses. The first is practical craft, where pupils can further develop their practical skills and enhance problem-solving and reasoning abilities. This course provides a safe and nurturing environment for pupils to refine their practical abilities.  In addition, we offer a design and manufacture course. Here, pupils can deepen their design skills, expand their knowledge of materials, and enhance their practical making abilities. This course provides an opportunity for pupils to refine their expertise in design and production.

Overall, our Design and Technology curriculum seeks to provide a comprehensive learning experience that nurtures both practical skills and creative thinking. We aim to empower our pupils to become independent and innovative learners while fostering a safe and supportive learning environment.
